Our house-made Creole Pumpkin Pie is made with heritage creole pumpkin grown on a local generational farm. Mr. Timmy Perilloux grows these pumpkins every year and we roast them and make them into a pie with fresh farm eggs in a flaky crust.
These pumpkins ripened on the vine and were curng on the field a week ago. The flesh is sweet, creamy and varies from a warm yellow to deep orange in color– it makes a delicious pie. Ica adds a spice mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves to the pumpkin custard and bakes it in a flaky crust.
The crust is made with vegan butter and flour. The pie is baked till the pumpkin custard filling is just cooked, then cooled and boxed for pick-up. Eat chilled, at room temperature, or warm in a medium oven.
9 inch pie. Serves 6-8 fine pieces of pie.
